Round 01 – 23 March 2019 – Midvaal Raceway
(Please be reminded you need to be a fully paid member to compete in the HRSA categories races. See below for further information.)
After a long wait the first round for 2019 will take place on 22 and 23 March 2019 at Midvaal Raceway. The regulations and entry form can be downloaded from the website under the Downloads section.
Entries open immediately and close on Friday, 15 March 2019 after which late entries may be accepted at the discretion of the organisers, however, on acceptance of the late entry an additional late entry fee of R350-00 will be applicable. The organizers reserve the right to cancel the race if not enough entries received by Friday 15 March 2019.

- Club Categories – R1200-00 per entry
- Different Class and Car but Same Driver – R1200-00 per entry
- Same Car and Same Driver but Different Class – R500-00 for 2nd entry

Next Noggin – 20 March 2019 – Categories AGM
The Annual General Meetings for Historic Racing South Africa categories will be held at the Piston Ring Club on the 20th of March 2019, starting at 7pm. All the below categories are affected, and the stipulated times below are when each category will be voted for:
- 7:00pm – Historic Saloon Cars
- 7:20pm – Historic Pursuit Racing
- 7:40pm – Sports and GT
- 8:00pm – Historic Production Cars
In terms of our constitution, for each category we need to elect a Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson.
Members are reminded that the closing time for nominations in writing for Chairpersons and Vice-Chairpersons are 5pm on Friday, the 15th of March 2019 and membership fees should be fully paid by then.

HRSA Membership
You need to be an HRSA Member if you want to race in any of our classes including Charlies SuperSpar Pursuit Series, Universal Healthcare Pre-80 Saloons, Universal Healthcare Pre-90 Sports & GT and Endurance series. Only paid up members are eligible for trophies in any of the HRSA categories.

MSA Licence
A Regional Licence is needed to compete in Endurance, Universal Healthcare Pre-80 Saloons and Universal Healthcare Pre-90 Sports & GT races. A club licence is required to compete in Pursuit. If you enter both a regional and a club race on the same day and a regional category is one of the options, then your car needs to comply with the regional category rules first, and you must have a regional licence.
Over 50 years of age as at 1 January 2019? You will need to provide a medical report with an effort ECG, over and above the medical declaration, in order to obtain an MSA competition licence. Thereafter, you would need to have an effort ECG every three years.
HTP
No car may compete if HTP is not up to date and signed off before the first race of 2019.
Stickers
It is a requirement of MSA and HRSA that sponsor decals and competition numbers are displayed on all cars. Please refer to GCR’s for specifications of individual sponsor decals. It is compulsory for competitors to display the Charlies SuperSpar and Universal Healthcare decal on the front windscreen.
Regional category sponsors take precedence over Club category sponsors. So, if you compete in Pre-80 Saloons (Regional) and Charlies SuperSpar Pursuit (Club) the regional category sponsor Universal Healthcare must be displayed on the front windscreen.
Numbers must be placed on the official HRSA number roundel, unless the car is a replica or recreation. Numbers are a specific size. See GCR246, GCR249 and SR4.
Prices of decals. Roundels and numbers are as follow:
Charlies Super Spar windscreen – R60-00
HRSA number roundel – R75-00 each
Competition numbers – R10-00 each
All cars must have new roundels on the doors if they wish to compete.
