A very entertaining first race for the Marlboro Crane Hire Pre-1980 Historic Saloons classes ABCDE, Classic Thoroughbreds and Pre-1990 Sports & GT would see Willie Hepburn (Opel Record V8) run away with the victory and set a new personal best and Historic Tour lap record of 1:17.747! His previous personal best was in the 1 minute 19 seconds. He would, however, be excluded from the results because of an infringement. This was because he stalled his car on the grid and then retook his position on the formation lap where the rules state a person should then start from the back of the grid. This handed the win to Peter Jenkins (Porsche 911 RSR) ahead of Jannie van Rooyen (VW Scirocco) and George Avvakoumides (Porsche 911 RSR) a close third.

The second race would, however, be a different affair as Hepburn made sure he does not put a foot wrong again. He took another convincing win ahead of Jenkins putting in another 1:17.815 fastest lap. This time round Avvokoumides got the better of van Rooyen to take third.

The Marlboro Crane Hire Historic Saloons and Classic Thoroughbreds classes F to H saw some of the best and closest racing on the day. David Hoal (Ford Escort MK1) would take a convincing win in race one ahead of Reg Sutton (Ford Escort). Kyle Murray (Nissan Sentra) finished in a satisfying third.

Murray would however take an early lead in race 2. This time around he had Stewart McClarty (Mazda 323) on his rear bumper for the whole race. This action packed race went down to the wire and when the flag dropped Murray would take the victory with McClarty a close second and but 0.3 of a second separating the two across the line. Deon van Vuuren (Ford Escort MK1) would finish this time round in third.

Overall results for the day:

Class F: 1. Deon van Vuuren, 2. Quentin Willis and 3. Willem Vorster

After a brilliant start to the Hamptons Historic Endurance Series race Peter Jenkins (Porsche 911 RSR) would lead most of the race. Colin Ellison would join him in the race, but bad luck struck as Ellison took over driving duties. The wheel of the car broke off and sent him off the track. Luckily he avoided colliding with anything but then had to sit and watch the dying stages of the race. Their misfortune would see second placed man Jeff Gable (Birkin 7 – Toyota) inherit the lead and going on to eventually win the race. Allan Spies who had to contend with Woolley in the endurance race as well would eventually get the better of him and take second. Woolley finished in third overall.
